Purveyors of Northern European Clothing, Home Goods and Lifestyle Choices
In 1974, two young people with degrees in architecture, art, communications and an abroad program in Copenhagen decided to start a business. They brought good Scandinavian Design to the marketplace in a way which had not been done before. Products such as Royal Copenhagen Porcelain were marketed along with the history of the company, the story of the particular design and an explanation of how the products are made.
A shop was opened in the Kahler Hotel located just around the corner from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. People from all over the world were coming to the Mayo Clinic for medical consultations. Some of these travelers became customers of The Nordic Shop during their stay in Rochester, Minnesota. These customers enjoyed the knowledge that the Store and its staff imparted both on the products they were buying, but also on the rich heritage associated with the products.
Now it is 40 plus years later and contemporary lifestyle choices at The Nordic Shop include the largest selection of Dale of Norway and Oleana of Norway sweaters in the United States. These extraordinary sweaters are made with quality raw materials and impeccable construction. The Nordic Shop is also the premier source for Scandinavian dinnerware, collectibles and other clothing brands.
Just recently The Nordic Shop was recognized by Dale of Norway for its 40 plus years of carrying Dale of Norway in the US. Not only that but for becoming the "largest Dale of Norway retailer" over all those years. The Nordic Shop is Dale of Norway's only Premier Retailer and is recognized as such on their website. The Nordic Shop has always carried the entire line of Dale of Norway for many of those 40 years and its staff can assist any customer to get the right sweater and fit.
The staff is knowledgeable and can answer how a Royal Copenhagen Mega Plate is hand painted, what are the current Oleana colors and how a Dale of Norway sweater should fit. The staff is familiar with authentic Scandinavian Lifestyle choices and will help with any questions a customer may have. You should not hesitate to email The Nordic Shop with any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org). Personal shopping assistants are available by phone during normal working hours for questions as well. (507-285-9143).
