Details:
The Spirit base layer sweater is made of 100% merino wool, knitted tightly to avoid show-through. Base layer garments are designed to be worn next to the skin as a layering piece but they can also be worn as a light weight sweater.
Design Notes:
Being part of the OL Spirit collection which was made for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, this sweater takes its design details from the official Olympic sweater for the Norwegian Olympic team. The design is a fusion of Chinese and Norwegian traditions. The star pattern on the chest originates from the classic Norwegian eight-petal rose. Here, the form is sharpened and crystallized, inspired by Chinese paper folding (called zhezhi) and Asian cartoons. Broad, white stripes on the shoulders and upper arms enhances the sporty design. The outcome is a futuristic look with a Dale twist. (OL stands for Olympic Games in Norwegian: “Olympiske Leker”).
