The Vagsoy sweater has the look of a yoke knit sweater, but with a raglan sleeve construction. It is made of 100% lightweight wool with a revolutionary new treatment using natural non-toxic salts makes it soft and machine washable. The sweater features slightly loose sleeves and a crewneck lined with skin soft merino wool for extra comfort.
Design Notes:
The pattern design is from Dale of Norway's original 1956 Cortina sweater – their first ever Olympic sweater made for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Cortina pattern captures the very essence of Norwegian tradition and has become one of Norway’s most beloved patterns. Vågsøy is an island situated on the outer shore of Nordfjorden, one of the fjords of west coast Norway. The island houses the city of Måløy, one of the main fishing ports in Norway.
