Dale of Norway - Vardasen Scarf
Off White/Ultramarine, 11881-A00
Details:
An ultra soft, merino wool scarf in a generous, wrap-friendly size. It has a dynamic all-over pattern that adds visual depth and energy, grounding the look in authentic Norwegian knitwear tradition. Motifs drawn from the design archive – including the eight-petal rose, classic lice patterns, and traditional border details – are reinterpreted through embossed linear elements, creating a modern, textured expression.
Design Notes:
The Vardåsen design builds on decades of Dale of Norway craftsmanship. It incorporates details from a multitude of iconic sweaters and highlights the signature eight-petal rose – a symbol that has defined Norwegian knitwear for generations. These historic elements have been thoughtfully reinterpreted to create a seamless dialogue between past and present, reflecting Dale of Norway’s enduring commitment to quality, tradition, and timeless Norwegian design.
Vardåsen is a ski resort in Asker, just a 30-minute drive from downtown Oslo. Its name originates from the signal beacons (“varde”) that Vikings once placed on mountaintops and high ridges as an early warning system. These beacons were visible from peak to peak – and when danger approached, fires were lit to spread the alarm across the land.
