Details:
Elevate your knitwear game with the Dale of Norway Ramberg Women's Sweater, a modern twist on a timeless classic. Designed for effortless style, it features a relaxed fit and eye-catching ribbed shoulder details that highlight its trendy drop-shoulder silhouette. The bold contrast stripes at the neck, sleeves, and hem add a dynamic edge, making this sweater a true statement piece.
Inspired by the historic Fana sweater, the Ramberg Women's Sweater reimagines tradition with a contemporary spin. The signature eight-petal-rose motif has been modified with rounded edges for a more feminine feel. The design encircles the chest, while a traditional lice pattern adds depth and texture. Subtle shoulder accents and refined stripe rib finishes complete the look, blending heritage craftsmanship with urban sophistication. Multiple yarn colors blend in the thread mix, giving the Ramberg Women's Sweater a vibrant, urban character.
Design Notes:
The Ramberg sweater draws its inspiration from the traditional Fana sweater. Originating in Fana, a borough of Bergen, the striped sweaters were historically worn by men for everyday use and became a staple of local attire. Known as "Stripetroye," these striped sweaters also served as undergarments for marines, oZering warmth and comfort beneath their uniforms. Women in Fana added their own flair to this heritage by wearing Fana sweaters beneath their bodices as part of their folk dress. Ramberg is a village of around 350 people, nestled in the breathtaking Lofoten archipelago, surrounded by pristine beaches and sharp, towering mountain peaks. Fittingly, the name translates to “frame” and “mountain”.
